My Definition of Social Networking

I think social networking is the ability to connect and communicate by means of the world wide web with other people who I share a common interest with in relationship to my personal and professional life.

Education is largely based on teaching students 21st century skills, such as communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and critical thinking to be productive global citizens. Social networking engages students in a community outside of their immediate area by encouraging and requiring the use of 21st century skills. Social networks enable students to be active in contextual learning by taking part in career partnerships while learning critical skills to be competitive in the workforce. Students can also work towards postsecondary goals while finishing high school graduation requirements. Moreover, students can experience diverse cultures without leaving the school building. Social networking also fosters communication on a local scale by providing parents and community stakeholders with vital information about the school.
